Points to Note after Cervical Smear and Colposcopy
You have already undergone an examination called ¡¥colposcopy¡¦ due to abnormal cell changes detected by the cervical screening programme. As the cell changes need time to recover, your cervical smear may still be mildly abnormal. At this stage, your condition will be followed up at the health centre more frequently.
What is the Follow-up plan?
ƒÞ	The follow-up plan is as follows:
Result	Contacted you
as soon as possible	Follow-up

 Severe or persistent cell changes

Yes ( „Ï )
[By phone / mail]	Earlier follow-up

Minor and non-persistent
cell changes	No ( „Î )

Follow-up on next scheduled smear test date and explanation of result by our staff

Normal
(no cell changes)	No ( „Î )
(2 to 3 months after having had your smear taken, the ¡¥Cervical Screening Information System¡¦ also will send you a notification letter.)	Follow-up on next scheduled smear test date and explanation of result by our staff

¡¹ Alternatively, 3 months after having had your smear taken, you may view your result online by logging onto the ¡¥Cervical Screening Information System¡¦ www.csis.gov.hk using your pre-set login name and password.
What should I pay attention to after smear taken?
ƒÞ	Whether you recently had normal cervical smear result or not, if at any time you experience abnormal vaginal bleeding (for example: between menses, after intercourse, or after you have had your menopause) or blood stained vaginal discharge, please seek medical advice immediately.
ƒÞ	You may visit the following clinics:
1.	general out-patient clinic
2.	your general practitioner
3.	medical consultation in our centre
( Charges per visit:
Eligible Person HK $100
