Information on Proper Usage of Condoms Download

Put Condom on the penis before any genital contact.

1.	Check the expiry date before usage.

2.	Use a new condom for each sexual intercourse.

3.	Remove condom from its package. Do not use scissors and take care not to tear it when pulling it out.
4.	Pinch the air out of the tip with one hand. This will form the space for collection of semen after ejaculation.

5.	Place the condom over the penis with one hand. Unroll it all the way down to the base of the penis with the other hand.

6.	Use water-base lubricants e.g. KY Jelly. Do not use oil-base lubricants e.g. baby oil, vaseline, which may damage the condom.
7.	After inter-course, withdraw the condom before the penis becomes soft. Hold the base of the condom during withdrawal and take care not to spill any semen.

8.	Dispose the used condom properly.

9.	If the condom ruptures or slips during intercourse, you may return to Maternal and Child Health Centres as soon as possible (within 72 hours) for postcoital contraception assessment.

Condom prevents sexually transmitted diseases including AIDs.
