1-day sample menu for pregnant mom in the 1st trimester

Breakfast

  • Rice noodles with cabbage and shredded meat in soup

    (Rice noodles 1 bowl without soup, ~2 tablespoons of cabbage and 1 tael of shredded meat )

  • Toast 1/2 slice

    (without butter or margarine)

  • Low-fat milk 1 cup

Morning snack

  • Apple 1 medium size

Lunch

  • Rice with meat cube and corn (requesting “less sauce and rice” when placing the order) (about 1 bowl of rice, 2 tablespoons of corn kernels and 3-4 tablespoons of meat cube)
  • Hot scented tea (not caffeine containing) 1 cup

Afternoon snack

  • Plain low-fat yoghurt 1 cup

Dinner

  • Steam Flathead mullet with lemon (fish fillet about a palm size (3 taels))
  • Bok choy in garlic soup (1 bowl of Bok choy)
  • Brown and white rice 3/4 bowl
  • Assorted vegetables, tomato, potato and lean meat soup 1 bowl (have 1/2 bowl vegetables, 2 egg-sized potatoes)

Bedtime snack

  • Cherries 1/2 bowl
