Family Planning Service

Family Planning Service is provided to all women of childbearing age in Maternal & Child Health Centres (MCHCs) to enable them to decide freely and responsibly the number and spacing of their children. Appropriate contraceptive methods including condom, contraceptive pills, hormonal injection or intrauterine device are prescribed according to individual needs. Counselling and referrals can be arranged for women who request for sterilisation or termination of pregnancy and those with subfertility problems.

Family Planning Service is provided at some selected MCHCs. Women who require this service may call the booking hotline 3796 0879 to make an appointment. The office hours of the booking hotline are 9am to 1pm and 2pm to 5pm on Monday to Friday, 9am to 11:30am on the 2nd and the 4th non-public Holiday Saturdays of each month.

In addition, post-coital contraceptive service is provided during the opening hours in all MCHCs (except East Kowloon MCHC). Women who are in need of post-coital contraceptive service outside MCHCs' opening hours may attend the Accident & Emergency Department of the Hospital Authority, the Family Planning Association of Hong Kong or private hospitals/clinics.
