The mammography shows some calcifications, are they related to cancer?

Depositions of calcium are commonly found in blood vessels and breast tissue. Therefore, calcified spots found on mammogram do not necessarily mean breast cancer.

How to differentiate benign from malignant depositions of calcium?

The calcifications indicating breast cancer look different from the calcified spots of normal tissues. By examining the X-ray images in detail, radiologist will decide whether further examinations such as ultra-sound examination or biopsy examination of breast tissues are required.
